information DESCRIPTION

The Edinburgh Society of Musicians is an organisation which promotes practical music-making in Edinburgh. It has been in existence since 1887.

We aim to promote the enjoyment of live classical music performance in the Edinburgh area.

Chamber music recitals are given every Saturday evening at 7:30pm from early October until the end of June.

The society attracts a variety of performers from students in search of experience to accomplished amateurs and professionals, well-known Scottish or international musicians.

The Edinburgh Society of Musicians offers opportunities to gifted amateurs and professional instrumentalists, singers, teachers and pupils, a platform and forum for exchange of experience and guidance - leading to the development of skills.

There is a modest annual membership subscription fee but the concerts are open and admission is free. In the course of the season, members have the opportunity to hear a wide range of compositions including musical rarities and occasional first performances. If you are interested in becoming a member and have any questions, please contact Sarah Bainbridge or use the online membership form (you will need to print it, fill it in and post it back).

For information about bookings and access arrangements please get in touch.
