information DESCRIPTION

Hello, we are Gorgie Dalry Stenhouse Church. We would love to welcome you to any of our services or events.

Gorgie Dalry Stenhouse Church sits right in the heart of the community of Gorgie and Dalry.

We have been moving steadily over the years towards becoming a church that is real. We have seen a growing trust and openness developing amongst ourselves, and there is a real desire to be honest with each other and supportive of one another. Our worship has become much more interactive and informal, and blends the best of the past and the present in a contemporary style. Our desire is for people to come away from here having felt that people noticed them as individuals and above all that Jesus loves them unconditionally and wants to bring them in to an intimate relationship with God.

We treasure the Gospel of Jesus and look to share it freely by word and action with all who will receive it. We have done so not just through Sunday services but through small groups, prayer times, children’s groups, holiday clubs, schools’ work, Alpha courses, women's meetings, outreach activities, night shelters for the homeless and the care van for those on our streets.

We recently merged with another church.

The Congregations of Gorgie Dalry Parish Church and of Stenhouse St. Aiden’s Parish Church officially merged on the 1st of January 2016. Though merged, the two congregations have so far been continuing to worship in their respective church buildings. There is also a service at Stenhouse St. Aiden's every Sunday at 11:00am - in the Edgar hall, opposite Kwik Fit on Chesser Avenue.

Saltyard...

We have recently opened our new coffee shop, Saltyard. Our prayer is that Saltyard will provide a place of belonging and love in Jesus for all the people in the community.
