information SERVICE DETAILS

We have been providing a range of award-winning and accredited advice services to our tenants and partners for a number of years.

We were one of the first housing associations to be accredited by the Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice Providers for our money advice provision and welfare rights advice.

Our qualified, knowledgeable and experienced teams help thousands of tenants each year to maximise their income, combat debt and mitigate the impacts of welfare reform.

Advice service

The Advice Service, funded by Link Group, provides welfare rights, money and debt advice to Link tenants and sharing owners.

Within the team we have an officer who also provides a service to Horizon Housing Association and Manor Estates Housing Association.

The service works to sustain tenancies, prevent homelessness and reduce the number of legal actions being taken against tenants.

Welfare rights and benefits advice

The core Welfare Rights team monitors change in Welfare Law to determine how they affect the whole of Link and deliver training courses to staff covering a wide range of benefit and welfare related issues.

The team works with tenants to help minimise the impact of welfare reform by completing benefit checks, assisting with benefit claims and accessing charitable grants – ensuring tenants receive the income they are entitled to.

They also support tenants with mandatory reconsideration's and appeals.

Money and debt advice

The Money and debt team aims to combat poverty and financial exclusion by helping address issues of debt and by supporting tenants to access a range of debt resolution options, improving understanding of financial products.
