Normal service details...

Expecting twins, triplets or more can be daunting. That is why Edinburgh & Lothians Twins & Multiples Club runs antenatal classes to support expectant parents. These classes are not designed to replace mainstream antenatal provision from either the NHS or NCT, but aim to provide guidance and answer questions on areas that are specific to multiples – birthing, feeding, bathing and getting around with more than one baby are some of the topics explored.

Our classes take place every second month and typically take the format of one class per weekday evening for three weeks.

We are hoping to provide a twins perspective - 'how do I feed twins?', 'how do I carry twins?', 'what kind of routine should I have?', 'Can I get on a bus with twin buggies?' and so on - and so we are aiming to provide discussion, experience and advice for these and the gazillion other questions which start occurring to you as soon as you find out you have twins!

The course will specifically cover the following topics:

- Pregnancy and Birth (led by a midwife)
- Equipment
- Feeding
- Help and Support
- Practical Baby Care - including routines and sleep

The other main aim of the course is to put you in touch with others in the same boat, and at the same stage with a view to providing the opportunity for you to form a network of twin parents from whom you can get support on an ongoing basis.

To register your interest, please get in touch.
