Care you’ll feel at home with...

Our @HOME Service is unique in that it includes housing support as well as providing exceptional levels of care. In fact it’s as unique as the people it helps. And because our Support Workers are based on site, more time can be spent offering to do everything from the weekly shop to helping people attend appointments. In the near future the service will also include a Home Help facility, so our tenants will have the peace of mind of knowing everything’s taken care of. This friendly and flexible service wont limit visits to a 15 minute slot, instead we’ll devote as much time as is needed to ensure a very high quality service. Our Support Workers will also carry out Housing Support Plans, annual reviews, Health and Safety checks, monitor the inactivity system and offer advice to tenants, including liaising with social work, NHS, GPs and Housing Benefit and other external agencies.

Help with funding

Most care is arranged through your Local Authority or the NHS and can utilise the services of small local companies or larger national organisations. The cost varies depending on the provider and the level of service you need, however funding could be available through either your Local Authority of the NHS. You can also apply for Self Direct Support funding or SDS funding. This puts you in control of the funds available and gives you a wider choice of providers. If you can pay for care yourself you’re free to choose any provider you wish – your social services will give you details of all registered carers. If you’d like Viewpoint to be your Care at Home provider we will ensure someone visits you in your own home to carry out an assessment of your needs, agree a service and assist you in setting up a payment plan.

For information on how to apply for SDS please call the City of Edinburgh Council advice line on 0131 469 3334 or you can contact our Welfare Rights Officer for help on 0131 662 5144.
