In addition to litter picking, woodland clearances and wild flower planting, the Friends of Pilrig Park have been working with the Council to improve the facilities of the park, including bins, benches and signage.

The Friends group has been working on some large projects:

£eith Decides

We were awarded £1,000 through £eith Decides to run a number of workshops in the area with the aim of producing anti-litter signage for the parks in Leith.

Citizen Curator - Grow Wild Fund

Citizen Curator is a contemporary arts organisation based in Edinburgh that has successfully won a bid through the Grow Wild Fund.

Inspired by ‘Woody’ Balfour’s Botany the project aims to combine his passion for teaching and the desire to understand a plant's ‘place’. The project will be co-designed by local youth groups, including the two local schools, and the various community groups that surround the park. Through workshops with stakeholders the project will examine the influence of the Balfour’s, reinterpreting it for a new generation and in the context of 21st centaury.
