The Study Buddies project is a free service that has been set up to help your child with their learning.
The Study Buddies project is designed to provide individual support to your child.
Your child will be matched with a suitable volunteer mentor to provide support around literacy, numeracy, and computer skills. The mentor will meet with your child once a week to help them with their school work and the go out for a meal afterwards.
To use this service your child needs to be aged between 5 and 18 and be affected by HIV or Hep C (they do not need to have HIV or Hep C themselves).
This service will give your child a good start in life, helping them improve their learning skills and grow in self-esteem and confidence.
We strive to uphold the UN convention on the rights of the child (UNCRC) through our children’s services. There are a range of resources available to aid understanding of the UNCRC and some of these can be accessed on our resources page.
This project is part-funded by the Scottish Government (Children, Young People and Families Early Intervention Fund and ALEC Fund Grant).
