LifeCare’s Help at Home supports people over 50 years old who are living with dementia, are struggling with mobility or have poor health, as well as those who care for them with regular and reliable support with household tasks and shopping.
When things are getting more difficult to manage Help at Home can provide flexible and tailored support that can help people to stay independent and enjoying life in their own home.
Support is tailored to individual clients and can include:
Support with shopping and errands
We can assist with anything from picking up a few items to full weekly shopping, picking up prescriptions and running other errands. We can help with meal planning and list making as well as checking expiry dates and keeping fridges clean. We offer a safe and secure cashless shopping service for those that need it.
Support with household tasks and cleaning
We can assist with anything from full house cleaning to a hand with specific tasks. We can also help with laundry, changing bedding and ironing as well as taking out bins and recycling, watering plants, helping to sort through cupboards and more.
All Home Helpers are fully vetted members of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and receive appropriate training.
Clients do not need to commit to getting the service for any length of time - support can be provided long term or just as long as is needed. Support can be provided for as little as one hour a fortnight up to a few hours a couple of time a week.
Visits normally happen on weekdays between 9:00am and 5:00pm throughout the City of Edinburgh.
