SSAFA and Age UK have teamed up to ensure that older veterans have someone to turn to during the Covid-19 lockdown.
SSAFA and Age UK are working together to support older Veterans who require additional support during these unprecedented times due to COVID-19.
Funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, the aim of the Veterans Should Not Be Forgotten campaign is to join up the different sources of support available to Veterans, ensuring they have the welfare and quality of life that they deserve especially during these difficult times.
Many older veterans over the past few months have been shielding or self-isolating to stay safe and this has often led to a feeling of being disconnected and isolated from what is happening within their local communities.
SSAFA volunteers continue to do their utmost to support Veterans through their networks, whether it be casework, giving information or advice or listening to their stories. Our partnership with Age UK enhances this support by offering a referral pathway and a close relationship increasing the breadth and depth of services available to Veterans.
