Organised and funded by the Edinburgh Young People with Parkinson’s Support Group, the group is open to anyone with Parkinson’s, no matter your age.
We meet weekly on Saturdays from 1:15pm to 3:15pm at the North Merchiston Club in Watson Crescent, Edinburgh, EH11 1EP.
Why not come along and join us, and bring a friend or family member? It’s for all abilities, including complete beginners, and equipment is provided.
There is a charge of £5 per person per week. You can use the Branch Shop facility, or pay cash on the day.
Recently the group became affiliated with Table Tennis Scotland! There are coaching sessions organised with Table Tennis Scotland with aspiration for some members to compete in competition with other similar groups.
You can get there by bus and it is only a short walk from all of them:
Lothian Buses number 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 22, 25, 27, 30, 33, 34, 35, 44, 300.
There is free on-street car parking on a Saturday afternoon, with parking available in Watson Crescent and surrounding streets. If you don’t have a satnav try using this AA website, or search for North Merchiston Club on Google Maps.
Access to the centre is from Watson Crescent, with a few steps up to the front door, and another few steps to the hall. A roller-ramp is available if you have difficulty with steps, so please let us know if that might be an issue for you. There’s a small café in the centre if you want to sit and have a coffee and a blether in between games.
