Arkle Theatre Company

Arkle Theatre Company is a theatre company based in Edinburgh. We are not a club, and have no members! We hold (fairly) open auditions for each show and cast the very best in each show. Our actors past and present include many who have been professionally trained or have accumulated vast experience of acting. We are also proud that we have cast members who have gone on to train as professional actors after being cast in one of our shows.

Typically we produce 3 shows each year, with one towards the end of April each year and two in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

General Information:

It was founded by Michael Mulligan and Rob MacKean, both of whom are still the driving force behind this band of brothers and sisters. Michael and Rob met at EPT (Edinburgh People's Theatre) too long ago to mention and the group has attracted both fleeting and loyal members in its lifespan and is always interested to hear from budding thespians of all ages. As well as being a recognised and popular group during April and at the Edinburgh Fringe, Arkle Theatre has also taken its plays to The Wynd Theatre in Melrose and to the Loch Leven Community Theatre in Kinross.

Arkle Theatre Company has established a reputation of producing high-quality shows and now most often perform to sell-out crowds.
