information DESCRIPTION

BATs Rugby is based in north Edinburgh and was set up in 2004 by Broughton RFC, Edinburgh Academicals FC and Trinity Accies RFC.

BATs Rugby is a community amateur sports club (CASC).

BATs works across the north Edinburgh community delivering a range of activities designed to increase participation, building skills, great behaviours and lifelong values.

We work with:

- 17 schools to deliver over 600 sessions of physical activity to young people and are involved with organising and coaching teams across all our schools.
- 5 secondary schools to build life skills and rugby ability amongst 200+ young people from a range of social and economic backgrounds
- More than 100 young people through our BATs programme of coaching and games
- Activity groups of people with learning and physical challenges
- Older people wishing to remain active in rugby
- Young coaches and referees looking to build skills

We love what we do and are proud and passionate about what we achieve. However, it takes a lot of time and a significant amount of money to deliver our programmes, fund our development officers, equipment, kit, transport and venue hire.
