information DESCRIPTION

Giving all children in Scotland an equal chance to flourish is at the heart of everything we do.

By bringing together a network of people working with and for children, alongside children and young people themselves, we offer a broad, balanced and independent voice. We create solutions, provide support and develop positive change across all areas affecting children in Scotland.

We do this by listening, gathering evidence, and applying and sharing our learning, while always working to uphold children’s rights. Our range of knowledge and expertise means we can provide trusted support on issues as diverse as the people we work with and the varied lives of children and families in Scotland.

Projects

As part of achieving our vision that all children in Scotland have an equal chance to flourish, we undertake a wide range of work. This includes:

- Participation and engagement work with children, young people and families
- Policy-related projects
- Specific pieces of commissioned work
- Research and evaluation projects
- Direct work with children, families and communities
- Influencing work to ensure policy and legislation meet the needs of children and families

The scale and breadth of work we undertake is difficult to capture in one place, but this regularly updated section provides you with a snapshot of some of our current projects.

You can also search for other pieces of work we are currently doing or have completed. This is an excellent opportunity for you to access information about our projects as well as the outcomes and learning from them.

We also undertake extensive activity linked to our membership. Our aim is to ensure members have a voice in our consultation responses, are represented in the working groups we are part of, can share knowledge at our events, and access the resources we produce.

Our services and partner organisations
We want to improve the lives of all children in Scotland.

In order to achieve this we offer special services and partner with organisations that provide practical support, advice and representation for children, young people, parents and families throughout Scotland.

Services

Enquire and Resolve are our national services, offering advice, information and mediation on additional support for learning for children and young people, parents, carers and practitioners.

Reach offers advice to young people who need support to get the most out of their education. Run by Enquire, the website has practical tips on what can help as well as young people sharing their views and experiences on a range of life issues.

Partner organisations

The National Parent Forum of Scotland works in partnership with national and local government and other organisations involved in education and child wellbeing issues to ensure parents play a full and equal role in education. Its overall aim is to help every child maximise their potential through their school life.

Parenting across Scotland is a partnership of charities offering support to children and families in Scotland. It focuses on parenting issues, working to realise its vision: A Scotland where all parents and families are valued and supported to give children the best possible start in life.

Working together means we have a stronger voice and can offer more to children, young people and families.

Also part of our network are Play Scotland and Together (Scottish Alliance for Children’s Rights), who share office space with us.
