The Colinton Amenity Association is a voluntary organisation whose main aim is to preserve and enhance the amenity of Colinton.
CAA is run by an Executive Committee which is charged with managing the affairs of the Association and discharging its functions on behalf of the membership. The Executive Committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting of the Association and comprises working and retired members of the community who have knowledge, experience and expertise in many relevant areas. Apart from pursuing its activities under the main themes of planning, environment and roads, the Executive also has a fourth theme of communication under which it publishes a regular Magazine for the community and maintains a website, a Facebook page and noticeboards in the Village.
The Executive Committee has four sub-committees, which deal with its main activities of planning, transport, environment and communications.
Established in 1927 to "preserve and enhance the amenity of Colinton district in so far as the sustainable development of the City of Edinburgh permits", the Colinton Amenity Association (CAA) is a voluntary association with charitable status.
