In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. Please telephone or email the contacts listed for the group or organisation if you are interested in their work to check what alternative arrangements might be available or to find out about alternative groups or services in your area.

Description

A national charity providing home based respite through short breaks/longer periods of support for 8,500 carers, and personal care for individuals finding it difficult to cope living alone, through our 42 services across Scotland.

Crossroads services are accessible to carers of all ages throughout Scotland, regardless of their disability or illness. Whether the person being cared for is a loved one with terminal cancer, a relative with dementia or someone close living with a disability requiring lifelong care, our highly experienced and professional staff can help.

There are approximately 660,000 carers in Scotland. Official statistics cite that currently 1 in 8 of the population in Scotland is a carer. Carers provide unpaid care and support to ill, frail or disabled family and friends. People from all walks of life and backgrounds are carers.

It is vital that our trusted service is still around to support the many thousands of individuals who will inevitably find themselves caring for a loved one in the future. It is estimated that 1 in 5 of the Scottish population will be a carer at some point in their life.

Our local service provision is adapted and staff skills developed to meet the specific need(s) of every client. A personal care plan is produced for each individual, evaluated on a regular basis, and adapted in response to developing need(s), accordingly. Crossroads clients live with an extensive range of challenges and the care attendant is assigned to the carer/cared for person to maximise support. We provide a structured yet flexible service through practical support.

Our staff are trained to the highest standard and Disclosure Checks carried out on every member of staff.

Crossroads aims to ensure that the services we provide to each individual exceed their expectations.

We are committed to delivering a discreet, high quality and trusted service. We take pride in personalising our service in accordance with individual need, securing the safety, independence and dignity of all clients.
