Welcome to Fresh Start. If you’ve heard about us because you’ve recently moved into a new tenancy after being homeless, please get in touch with us to hear how we can help you.
Fresh Start helps people make a home for themselves by providing practical and emotional support. We view our clients as if they were on a journey from being homeless to being settled in their new home and with the confidence and sense of well-being to face the future.
We’re delighted to announce a new and exciting arm to Fresh Start's services, which has opened with a new office and its own warehouse.
The Food Station:
Based in the Phoenix Club at Harrison Place, near Slateford Road, will deliver a whole range of new or upgraded services to allow us to help clients cook hot meals and improve their diets.
It will also allow us to develop our opportunities for training opportunities for people who have been homeless and expand our overall support package for previously homeless households in Edinburgh.
Here we provide cooking classes and have developed a growing space, growing fruit and vegetables to be used in the classes. We have also donated this produce to local food banks.
The Food Station is funded by the Bank of Scotland Foundation and a donation from The Crerar Hotels Trust.
This new branch of our organisation is still in its infancy, and all contact must go through our Ferry Road office, 22-24 Ferry Road Drive, EH4 4BR.
Our volunteers and clients work together in a welcoming and positive environment, learning new skills and gaining new experiences.
