Orcadia Creative Learning Centre

Established in 1997, the objectives of Orcadia are to provide a safe, secure, enjoyable, friendly, stimulating and challenging environment for children, young people and adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and challenging behaviour by providing an opportunity to attend classes at the Centre and develop a wide range of skills whilst experiencing social interaction with their peers which in many instances they would not otherwise be able to do. We currently have around 200 students attending our in-depth programme of classes and activities at the Centre.

Under the supervision of our creative, skilled and dedicated staff all our students have the opportunity to become involved in a variety of programmes including one to one and group contact sessions in creative arts, music, drama, movement and mime, photography, puppetry and filmmaking, in addition to social groups and workshops.

As well as our Young People’s Club which is held weekly on Wednesday evenings we also hold a Valentine’s disco, Barbeques, Halloween and Christmas parties with our most recent addition a Film Night where students and family members have a unique opportunity to come to the Centre and have a social evening watching the films produced in the Creative Arts and Film Making classes. This provides a wonderful opportunity and experience for the students to share their work, achievements and accomplishments with their parents, carers and tutors.
