DESCRIPTION
The Port Edgar Dragons are a Dragon Boat group based at Port Edgar Marina,South Queensferry. Aimed primarily at those recovering from breast cancer – and their supporters – the team was established in 2010 with support from Paddlers for Life, a UK wide breast cancer dragon boat network. We acquired our first dragon boat in 2011 and began to develop dragon boat paddling in the Edinburgh area.
Whilst slightly at the whim of tides and weather, we endeavour to take the boat out every Sunday, more during summer months, and welcome everyone who would like to try this amazing sport. This means anyone who has had a cancer diagnosis, their family and friends, and anyone interested in supporting the team.
An exciting new chapter begins for the Port Edgar Dragons! We have relocated one of our boats to the Union Canal at Bridge 8 Hub!! The canal is more sheltered and does not have the tides which prevent us from paddling at the same time every week at Port Edgar.
