Shaw Trust is a national charity which supports disabled and disadvantaged people to prepare for work, find jobs and live more independently.
Shaw Trust was formed as a charity, in 1982, to ensure the most severely disabled people had employment opportunities outside sheltered workshops. Now we are one of the largest, national third sector providers of welfare to work and social care programmes, having supported over 450,000 individuals towards independence.
We believe everyone has the right to work and we have campaigned for 30 years to turn our vision into a reality.
Whatever the clients disability or medical condition, we aim to help them back towards work through the following:
- Confidence building
- Experience and skills assessment
- Skills development such as communications & IT
- Work experience and supported work opportunities
- Help with CV's, application forms & interview techniques
- Ongoing in work support
