SERVICE DETAILS
The Group aims to provide support to individuals and families who have suffered the loss of a loved one. The death of a family member or friend confronts us with one of life’s most painful challenges and no-one should have to face it alone. The parish priest will ask the bereaved if they wish input from the Bereavement Group and refer appropriately.
Group members will respond flexibly to the needs and wishes of the bereaved but support may include:
- Visiting and practical help for a period after the death
- Cards and follow up contact
- Support at the funeral service
- Invitation to an annual bereavement Mass in November
- Signposting to social and advisory support
