In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. Please telephone or email the contacts listed for the group or organisation if you are interested in their work to check what alternative arrangements might be available or to find out about alternative groups or services in your area.


Crossroads - Edinburgh

A Care Attendant is provided to care for the cared for person to enable the carer to benefit from a regular meaningful break that will assist the carer to maintain their caring role, maintain their own health and wellbeing, maintain their own interests/hobbies/employment and to assist the carer in the management of carer stress. The service aims to identify and achieve positive outcomes for each individual Carer.

The following services are available:

- Short Breaks in the Home - from a few hours to overnights
- Befriending - companionship, personal care and home support tasks, accompanying the Service User to social/leisure activities
- Supported Access to Activities - college, work placements, clubs etc

The service is available to Carers throughout the City of Edinburgh and its rural communities. Funding may be available to provide regular person centred short respite breaks to Carers. Carers may also self fund or make use of their Direct Payments to fund these person centred services.
