Our hands on cooking courses encourage healthier eating and show people how to buy and prepare food on a low budget. Participants learn about food hygiene and food safety, and grow their confidence in the kitchen whilst sharing their enjoyment of cooking a meal in a positive social setting.
Inverleith Community Cook Club
Community Cook Clubs everyone enjoys the opportunity to have something to eat and someone to eat with. Cyrenians provide nutritious meals whilst building community – we create new friendships that build self-esteem and reduce loneliness.
As well as eating in the groups, members are given recipes, extra ingredients and additional prepared meals to take home or to give to a friend. The clubs can hold themed events like film and games nights or talks, and an array of advice and support services are available.
You can join in the cooking or simply come along for the community meal and enjoy the chat. Community Cook Clubs can take place in any venue with space to cook and eat.
Groups can access the very low cost ingredients through FareShare, making them inexpensive to run and Cyrenians Community Cook Clubs are free to attend and open to all.
Clib meets at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh in the Cottage - every second Friday.
If you’d like to get more information about the service or our clubs, please get in touch.
