The EVOC Red Book

The online directory to find third sector Organisations, and their services across Edinburgh

IMPORTANT

Only services that are currently available during COVID-19 are listed in the directory.

In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. Please telephone or email the contacts listed for the group or organisation if you are interested in their work to check what alternative arrangements might be available.

Our meals are hosted every week by churches in Edinburgh

Our current host is Edinburgh City Mission in partnership with City of Edinburgh Methodist Church.

Soul Food is a free community meal for local people to gather together to enjoy food and to connect with others.

It happens EVERY Wednesday from 5:30pm - 7:00pm at City of Edinburgh Methodist Church, 25 Nicolson Square, EH8 9BX.

On Wednesday we host a Soul Food meal - a community meal that especially welcomes people that are marginalised in society such as those who are experiencing homelessness, addictions, mental health loneliness or poverty.

FREE home cooked two course meal for anyone who is in need every Wednesday at 5:30pm.

Guests are rough sleepers, sofa surfers, people who live in B&B's, Hostels and people who are just about managing. We have guests from all over the world as well as born and bred Edinburgh people. We have guests who are addicts or recovering, guests who feel isolated, guests who are living with all the issues that poor mental health brings, we have guests who are trying to engage with society once again and guests who are trying to leave society behind.

It’s an interesting room - endless cups of coffee and tea along with great food have enabled friendships to be formed, significant conversations, and a community established.
