Our food team works with local people, volunteers and partners to address food-related issues in North Edinburgh, such as food insecurity and food poverty. We do this mainly by:
Organising and delivering cooking programmes adapted to the participants needs (quick, easy meals on a budget; cooking skills and cooking tips; healthier eating knowledge and understanding).
Offering access to food related training courses such as Food Hygiene and Food and Health. We also deliver the PCHP online nutrition toolkit training (http://www.toolkit.pchp.org.uk/) for trainers (to support trainers to deliver food related sessions).
Supporting the North Edinburgh Food for Thought Forum (http://www.pchp.org.uk/projects/food-thought-forum), a network of local residents, volunteers and organisations, working together to support, promote, link and increase local community food activity.
Providing easy access to FREE food for those who need it, through the Sharing Shelves programme.
If you are interested in knowing more about the food related activity in North Edinburgh, please check our Food Map (http://www.foodforthoughtforum.org.uk/#/map) and if you would like to be part of this ongoing work as a participant, volunteer or partner, please get in touch.
