Complementary and Other Therapies

Our Therapies can help relieve your Symptoms

Myofascial Release Therapy...

On Tuesdays with Karen (resuming soon). £30 per session.

Myofascial release is a gentle therapy which works specifically with the connective tissue (fascia) to relieve the tightness that causes muscle restrictions. The fascia is like a 3D web which surrounds every cell, muscle and organ from head to toe. It provides support and flexibility to all the systems in the body. Myofascial release uses sustained pressure to stretch and lengthen the fascia.

Often modern medicine ignores this interwoven network, however releasing restrictions within the 3D web can be the missing link in resolving causes of pain and discomfort. Our Myofascial Release Therapist Karen Baker has a keen interest in soft tissue dysfunction and began practicing alternative therapies in 1998.

Reiki...

On Mondays with Carina (coming soon). This will be donation only.

Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety through gentle touch. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing.

Nail Care Service

On Wednesdays with Tracey. Prices will vary depending on treatment.

It is extremely important to maintain good nail health when living with a neurological condition. Whether you just require a nail cut, a full pedicure or manicure, you will receive genuine care throughout your treatment. This service from Maniped has the option of luxurious extras to pamper and preen to perfection. If you wish, they can arrange regular appointments too!

Please phone for an appointment.

As this is a cosmetic service only, any unusual medical symptoms may be referred to a client’s own GP or Chiropodist/Podiatrist.

Kinetic Chain Release...

On Thursdays with Agnieszka. £30 per session.

Kinetic Chain Release (KCR) involves gentle joint mobilisations and muscle stretches are performed to take your body back into balance quickly and easily.

Developed by Scottish Physiotherapist Hugh Gilbert, KCR does not use any adjustments or manipulation, and should not hurt, though you may experience some slight discomfort with one or two stretches.

Acupuncture...

Appointments available throughout the week with our physio team.

Acupuncture points are believed to stimulate the central nervous system. This, in turn, releases chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These biochemical changes may stimulate the body's natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being.

Gillian Robinson, our Lead Physiotherapist and our Senior Physiotherapist, Izabela are both experienced acupuncture practitioners.

Swedish Massage and Reflexology...

On Fridays with Tammy. £30 per session.

The Swedish massage is one of the most common types of massages you can get. It is performed to energize the body and improve overall health. This type of massage involves actions like percussion, kneading, vibration, tapping and rolling. Massage oil or lotion is used to protect the skin from friction.

Reflexology is a type of massage that involves applying different amounts of pressure to the feet, hands and ears. It’s based on theories that these body parts are connected to certain organs and body systems and that applying pressure to these parts offers a range of health benefits.
