Oxgangs Care

This service provides day care for older adults with mild to moderate dementia. The Club is supported by a Co-ordinator, a Care Assistant and a team of dedicated local volunteers.

The Club offers a range of activities geared towards the needs, abilities and preferences of its members, and include gentle exercise, community singing, quizzes, craftwork, discussion, reminiscence and outings.

A two course hot lunch and refreshments are provided, with a small charge being made to help cover costs.

Transport to and from the venue is also provided.

The Wednesday Club is organised and run by Oxgangs Care who are a locally based voluntary organisation and a charitable company limited by guarantee. They provide direct help and support through a range of services to isolated, vulnerable and disadvantaged people living in Oxgangs and surrounding areas. It is governed by a Board of Directors made up of local residents and service users.
