OUR CLASSES FOR DURING PREGNANCY

Our classes and groups for during your pregnancy are designed to help you make informed choices about how, where, and with whom you give birth, and to help you feel confident about approaching parenthood.

Our information is balanced and unbiased, and we promise to answer your questions openly and honestly. All our facilitators are experts in their field, and include doulas, ex-midwives and those who have completed the Birth Educators' Course.

HOMEBIRTH SUPPORT GROUP...

The homebirth support group is open to everyone who wishes to find out more about homebirth, support those interested in having a homebirth or who wish to tell their homebirth story to support others with the option.

This is a free drop-in group and no booking is required.

The Homebirth Support Group usually meets on the first Sunday of every month from 11:00am-10)0pm at the PPC. It is open to everyone interested in finding out about homebirth or supporting others who want to know more about homebirth.

The topics that are regularly discussed in the group include practical issues and what you might need, how to get support from the maternity services for a homebirth, options for when things don’t go to plan, role of partners and what they can do to support during a homebirth, and how siblings can be involved.

Our group has several aims:

- To allow you to consider homebirth if you have not yet decided where you would like to birth your baby
- To provide a group where those planning a homebirth may feel supported, and normal
- To provide a safe space to explore any questions or concerns, whether practical, physical or emotional
- To welcome parents back to give encouragement to others who want or need it
- To share positive stories of birth regardless of the outcome or place of birth

This group is a drop-in group and you do not need to book. This is a free group but we do welcome donations to cover the tea and biscuits and resources available. Suggested donation is £2 per person.
