The EVOC Red Book

The online directory to find third sector Organisations, and their services across Edinburgh

Directory of local groups/projects who are offering specific support during the current COVID-19 pandemic »

In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. Please telephone or email the contacts listed for the group or organisation if you are interested in their work to check what alternative arrangements might be available or to find out about alternative groups or services in your area.

We have been established in East Edinburgh since 1986 and offer a wide variety of subjects including Ballet, Jazz, Latin, Modern, Tap, Flexibility, Pointe Work, Highland, National and various adult classes.

We have classes to suit all ages and abilities from beginner to teaching level and beyond.

We are active teaching members of the British Ballet Organisation for Ballet, Tap, Jazz & Pointe, and the United Kingdom Alliance for Highland & National.

Young children love to move, be it at play or when listening to music. By combining movement to music, this not only helps to develop cognitive, motor and social skills but also instils exercise as a way of life. As children grow older dance can continue to be a hobby for some or a future career choice for others.

Whatever a child's goal, dance frequently produces confident, well-coordinated young people with good posture, self respect and respect for others. It is also a wonderful fun hobby which gives young people the chance to experience the thrill of performance and the satisfaction of progressing and gaining qualifications with an international body - the B.B.O. Both Exam and Recreational levels are offered.

Not all boys and girls who attend dance classes become professional performers, but you can be sure their training will build confidence & poise and is a fun hobby that can be enjoyed for many years.
