Al-Anon Family Groups are for the families & friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, & hope in order to solve their common problems.
Mutual support group for families and friends of problem drinkers. Individual members find confidential help and hope in groups that meet in Edinburgh.
What we are not...
Al-Anon is not a therapy group. We don't offer counselling or advice or try to explain your experiences.
We are not a religious organisation and welcome those of all faiths and none, treating everyone as equals. We discourage discussion about religion, politics and other outside topics.
What to expect...
You will be welcomed with acceptance and understanding. When family life with a problem drinker is chaotic, an Al-Anon meeting can provide a much-needed safe haven in which to share experience, strength and hope.
How much does it cost to become a member or join a meeting?
We do not charge fees for membership or attending meetings. Al-Anon is funded solely through members' own voluntary donations and a collection will normally be held at each meeting. Members can also donate online.
We listen and support each other. We are honest about problem drinking and the impact it has on our lives.
Meeting lasts for one hour in the Crypt of St John's Church. Entry through Church or via door on Princes Street.
