Children 1st’s money advisors help communities through tailored confidential advice.

Here are some of the main ways we can help you and your family:

- Benefit checks: we help check what benefits you may be entitled to and help with the entire claim process.
- Form filling: we assist with complex forms and applications, such as Personal Independence Payment (PIP) or Disability Living Allowance (DLA).
- Budgeting: money not stretching between payments? We can help find out where the money is going or help you set and reach savings targets.
- Debts: most people will have some form of debt but when it becomes unmanageable that can be a big worry. We can help guide you through your options and provide access to statutory debt solutions if need be.
- Food: issue of food vouchers and referrals to foodbanks
- Fuel bills: paying more than you need to for your gas and electric? We can help find the cheapest rates and help access emergency top-ups.
- Consumer issues: we can provide you with information regarding your rights, problems with hire purchase, refund for faulty products etc.
- Housing: we can assist with housing benefit applications and help you know your rights when it comes to housing disputes.

How we help is flexible. You could be looking for a one-off piece of information and advice or longer-term ongoing support. Either way, all appointments with a Children 1st money adviser will be completely impartial and be kept in the strictest confidence.
