information SERVICE DETAILS

In addition to our local support groups where you can meet others with alopecia face to face and share experiences, we also have options for online meetups. Our online meetings are completely free and can be a great first step for those who have never met or talked to anyone about their alopecia. The sessions are also a great option if your local support group is too far to travel, or if you’d like to connect with people in between a face to face meeting.

We have online meeting options for the following groups:

- Adults (age 18+) with alopecia - previously known as the Alopecia Cafe
- Young people (age 13 - 18) with alopecia
- Children (up to age 12) with alopecia
- Parents of children with alopecia - previously known as the Alopecia Cafe

These meetings are open to people with any type of hair loss. These meetings are only suitable for those in the UK.

What can you expect from an online group meeting?

All of our online group meetings offer a safe, welcoming and informal space for people affected by alopecia to meet others going through a similar situation. Each meeting has at least one host to help facilitate the session.

Our online meetings are tailored to each group, and roughly consist of:

- Children's meetings: Full of fun games, activities and workshops
- Meetings for young people: Our teens' meetings are relaxed, social get-togethers for young people to chat and meet others.
- Parents of children with alopecia meetings: These meetings offer a space for parents to connect with each other, gain support and ask questions.
- Adults' meetings: Offer a safe and supportive space for adults affected by alopecia to gain peer support from others experiencing hair loss.

How frequently do online group meetings take place?

Depending on the type of meeting, some are held monthly or bi-monthly offering flexibility for attendees.

How do I register for an online meeting?
