It is our mission to reach the wider community of young families living in the vicinity of St Margaret’s Episcopal Church. We see ourselves as like a ‘family of friends‘ sharing life together and supporting one another through a listening ear and in practical ways.
The group is run by members of the church, supported by a committee which includes parent representation.
WHEN WE MEET...
Days; Monday’s & Wednesday’s by pre-booking system.
Times: One long session from 9:45am to 11:15am.
We offer a snack for children, coffee/tea for adults.
We limit our numbers to 15 adults in the upstairs halls.
On Monday’s we have a separate baby group downstairs for 6 babies
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
There will be tea and coffee for the adults, along with some morning treats. There will also be some water and juice for the children and some fruit.
Buggy parking is available inside the church.
Toys, games, and art supplies for children to play and interact with.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Interesting, educational play for babies and children up to 3 years.
- A wide range of play resources and activities, led by experienced volunteers and a qualified Play Worker.
- A safe environment for children to learn social skills and the principle of sharing
- Support for parents and carers
- An attentive listening ear
- Sharing ideas about parenting and life circumstances
- A space where children gain self confidence through interaction with their peer group and adults
- Learning English for those where this is not their first language , as well as basic words of other languages too
- Learning action nursery rhymes and singing fun songs
- Developing friendships that continue out with the group
- A safe hygiene-aware environment with resources to meet Government requirements
Does it cost anything?
It is completely FREE to come to the Parent and Toddler group! If you are able to donate 1-2 pounds/week for tea, coffee, and extra little costs, it would be greatly appreciated, but there is no obligation.
We are very excited to be able to open up our space to parents and carers who want a place for their children to interact with others their own age and where they themselves can interact with other adults from the neighbourhood.
