information SERVICE DETAILS

Age Scotland is working alongside partners in the Unforgotten Forces consortium to boost the health and wellbeing of veterans in Scotland aged 65 and older. A minimum one day’s paid service in HM Armed Forces as a regular, reserve, national serviceman or in the merchant navy could entitle you to extra help and support.

Comradeship Circles...

The service is free (including calls), open HM Armed Forces regulars, reservists, National Servicemen and Merchant Navy that have supported a UK military operation. It is also available to veterans' partners, widows and widowers.

A Comradeship Circle is a group of typically six people who chat together by phone at the same time and on the same day each week. Group members can talk about whatever they like. A member of our team is on hand to connect everyone and ensure the call runs smoothly. New members receive postal information and a one to one phone call before they start so that the know exactly what's involved.

For more information and to sign-up call the Age Scotland helpline on 0800 12 44 222 or email veteransproject@agescotland.org.uk. If you are contacting us on behalf of an older veteran we will need, alongside their contact details, confirmation that they are aware of this and are happy for us to phone them, including leaving a voicemail message. We also welcome approaches from veterans’ community groups and associations who would be interested in us setting up a bespoke Comradeship Circle for some of their veterans.

For more information and to sign-up call the Age Scotland helpline on 0800 12 44 222 or email veteransproject@agescotland.org.uk.
