We offer a safe, supportive environment for individuals, helping them make positive choices about their current circumstances.
The Pleasance is a Rapid Access Accommodation service and a key part in the City of Edinburgh approach to reducing rough sleeping and towards reducing homelessness. Residents are referred from street based agencies and stay with us until appropriate temporary accommodation and support is identified and accessed.
Who We Help
All referrals come from Streetwork. Their team can be contacted on at 18 South Bridge, Edinburgh, EH1 1LL, and on 0808 178 2323.
Users need to be able to access Housing benefit, and have a right to support from the City of Edinburgh Council.
We serve both couples and individuals. There is no personal charge for staying at The Pleasance.
Facilities
We aim to create a calm, supportive environment where our residents feel empowered and respected.
Breakfast is included in the service, and other food is made available from a range of donors for use in the kitchens.
We also have a gym and laundry. Pets are generally welcome.
The key focus of our work is to help the transition from rough sleeping into a stable lifestyle. This includes individual support with all aspects of health and wellbeing and social engagement.
