If you are interested in joining us, we hold one set of auditions for The Show and Showchoir at the beginning of each academic year during Fresher's week. If you are successful you will receive a callback and then who knows, maybe YOU could be the star of our next show!
THE SHOW
Each academic year, the society sets out to produce a musical of only the highest quality. In recent years, the society has continued to achieve striking levels of professionalism throughout all levels of these productions, reflected in hugely successful productions of hit musicals including 'The Wedding Singer', 'Company', 'Chicago', '9 to 5', 'Rent', 'Guys and Dolls', and 'Fame'.
SHOWCHOIR
Showchoir is an exciting performance group formed in 2011 which has gone from strength to strength ever since. The choir performs at a number of events throughout the year both in and outside the University. Showchoir strives for a high standard of performance, with exciting challenges and diversity in singing and movement whilst not restricting performers to one show, genre or time period.
HOW TO JOIN...
THE CAST OR CHOIR
Our auditions are hosted during freshers week at Edinburgh University (yearly during September/Freshers week) Keep and eye on our website/Facebook page in the running unto September for information on how to sign up. Our auditions are open to all (students or non-students) and no experience is required.
THE PRODUCTION TEAM
If you would like to apply to be a member of either production team (Show or Showchoir) our applications are released around April/May for Director, Musical Director, Choreographer, Producer and Production Manager. Job descriptions and information on how to apply will be released via our Facebook page and our website. BEHIND THE SCENES
Our production managers actively seek those interested in "behind the scenes", whether that be make-up, costume, lighting, sound etc. If you are looking to get involved, please fill out the contact form above for more information and to see whether there are any positions available to you.
