information SERVICE DETAILS

We welcome anyone with an interest in Gaelic and/or singing. Members have access to resources such as sound files for words and music as well as translations.

More information, please call 07950 278 956 or email coisir-dhuneideann@hotmail.co.uk.

Or just come along!

We are always pleased to welcome new members, young and old, male and female, Gaels and non-Gaels alike.

Rehearsals are lead by our conductor who guides us in all aspects of performance and musical interpretation of the songs while our Gaelic tutor spends time with us learning and practising words. Support materials are supplied such as song translations and sound recordings of both words and music.

The choir comprises a complete range of Gaelic speakers from the native to advanced learner to the rusty intermediate and absolute beginner and many find that their Gaelic improves as time goes on.

We are always happy to welcome new members in all vocal ranges.

We don't hold auditions and you won't be asked to sing on your own, however the final decision about joining the choir rests with the conductor and committee.

Membership...

Membership of the choir costs £30 per term, the choir year being split into three terms. Payments are due on 1 January, 1 April and 1 August each year.

Rehearsals...

We meet every Wednesday between 7:15pm and 9:15pm at Broughton St Mary's Parish Church. Just walk down the lane at the right of the church and one of our members will let you in. There is a short break halfway through for tea, a biscuit, and a chance to get to know the other members.

The best way to join is to come along to a couple of rehearsals to find out if you enjoy it. You don't have to be able to read music, although this would be an advantage.

Please contact the Secretary for more information or come along to one of our practices.
