information SERVICE DETAILS

We don't hold auditions to join the choir, and you don't have to be able to sing to any particular level - you also don't need to be able to read music. The choir welcomes a whole mixture of members: those who have been in choirs previously, those who have only ever sung in the shower, some who do not read music...all different abilities.

We sing arrangements of pop songs (old and new), themes from musicals, the odd folk-song or well-known classical piece and popular classics at Christmas. Check out the Music tab to see what's planned for this term.

We host two concerts a year - one in Summer and one at Christmas time. We also occasionally take part in charity events. If you only want to come and sing weekly, and aren't interested in performing, that's not a problem at all - we'd still love to see you at rehearsals!

REHEARSALS - WHERE & WHEN

Rehearsals run weekly on Mondays, 7:30pm - 8:45pm throughout the year with the odd week off. There will be a break of 2-8 weeks at Easter, over Summer, and at Christmas.

Rehearsals take place at St. Cuthbert's Parish Church, Lothian Road.

Make sure you join us in the pub afterwards for a quick drink - all are welcome, and we only stay for half an hour to have a natter.

COST...

The weekly charge is £4. There is no yearly or termly charge - pay as you go!

N.B.

St. Cuthbert's is at the west end of Prince's Street. It can be accessed from both Lothian Road and King's Stables Road. (Don't confuse St. Cuthbert's with St. John's, which is right on the corner of Princes and Lothian - you need to walk a little further down to get to St. Cuthbert's.)

Buses stop on Prince's Street, King's Stables Road and Lothian Road, all within walking distance of the church.

Unfortunately there is no parking at St. Cuthbert's but there is an NCP car park on Castle Terrace and limited parking on surrounding streets (some free after 6:30pm).

Bicycles can be chained up at the church.

IF YOU'D LIKE TO JOIN THE CHOIR...

YOU CAN SIMPLY COME ALONG TO A REHEARSAL AND JOIN IN!

WITH NO AUDITIONS, YOU CAN DIVE RIGHT IN!

Just remember your subs for the evening (£4), and it's a good idea to bring a bottle of water to refresh your throat after all that singing!

If you arrive a little late, do just come on in and we can deal with the admin stuff during the break. Similarly, if you need to leave early, that's no problem.
