The EVOC Red Book

The online directory to find third sector Organisations, and their services across Edinburgh

Only services that are currently available during COVID-19 are listed in the directory.

In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. Please telephone or email the contacts listed for the group or organisation if you are interested in their work to check what alternative arrangements might be available.

Normal service details...

This group aims to develop social and personal skills with the overall focus on encouraging future social inclusion. Play is an essential part of every child's life.

We provide inclusive play opportunities for children in P3 and P4, which takes into account their individual needs and helps them to meet their full potential. Roots encourages the children to be independent. We do these things by providing a wide range of activities taking into account all areas of play e.g. physical, dramatic and imaginative play, play which stimulates the senses etc. All this seeks to help in children's physical, social, emotional, intellectual, creative and cultural development.

The club incorporates a varied programme to promote social, personal and emotional development. With anything between 4 to 8 activities are on offer including arts & crafts, cooking, sports, trips, drama and issue based sessions.

The club is run in an open access style but children have to apply for a place. The child, and a parent/guardian are then invited in to meet with fulltime staff to share expectations, complete consent forms and receive a parent checklist for any activities.
