Providing high quality alternative print formats

The Scottish Braille Press is a leading provider in the UK of high quality alternative formats and offers a transcription service to provide materials accessible to visually impaired people in Braille, Large Print and Audio for all types of business regardless of size. We also produce a variety of subsidised magazines and books in Braille with a wide range of titles to suit both blind adults and children.

We are part of the registered charity Royal Blind. Founded in 1891, the Scottish Braille Press has a strong history and heritage in the production of alternative formats and employment for the visually impaired.

We are represented on the Board of the UK Association for Accessible Formats (UKAAF). As a member of UKAAF we are committed to promoting best practice in providing accessible formats, to ensure quality standards are maintained. Furthermore, we are a supported employer and provide supported employment opportunities for a number of disabled people, in particular the visually impaired.
