Scouts

Scouts take part in a Balanced Programme that helps them to find out about the world in which they live, encourages them to know their own abilities and the importance of keeping fit and helps develop their creative talents. Being outdoors is important such as camping, survival and cooking as well as a wide range of adventurous activities, which can include anything from abseiling to zorbing. The chance to take part in international travel is also important for Scouts and many travel abroad during their time in the Section.

Scouts has a fun and exciting programme of activities all year round, from sailing and mountain biking in the summer, to snowboarding and extreme camping in the winter.

As well as our Friday night meetings, which can be in the hall at 45 Lanark Road West or out and about around Edinburgh, we also have a number of weekend activities throughout the year at the lowest price we can manage.

Scouts in the 31st wear a full Scout uniform to Friday night meetings which includes a Scout shirt, neckerchief, Scout activity trousers and a Scout belt.

We welcome new members at any time of year so why not come along and join us, we'd be very happy to see you there.

Fees...

Each group charges a fee (called subscriptions or subs) to cover the costs of running regular meetings. This covers venue hire, insurances and materials for activities. There're sometimes extra charges for special activities, camps and events. We try to keep our subs as low as possible. so that anyone can come to Scouts. If you need help paying subs, please speak to your leader.
