The EVOC Red Book

The online directory to find third sector Organisations, and their services across Edinburgh

IMPORTANT

Directory of local groups/projects who are offering specific support during the current COVID-19 pandemic »

In line with Government advice, most groups and organisations in the city have had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend face to face and group work activities. Please telephone or email the contacts listed for the group or organisation if you are interested in their work to check what alternative arrangements might be available or to find out about alternative groups or services in your area.

Shop...

All our Shelter Scotland charity shops have a great range of second-hand clothing for men, women and children, including one-off vintage items, as well as books, CDs, DVDs and bric-a-brac. We also have a number of shops dedicated to selling quality second-hand furniture.

Got unwanted items? We accept donations of good quality goods and clothes to all our Shelter shops. And if you can spare some time we always welcome volunteers.

Donate...

We are always grateful for donations to our Shelter Scotland shops; everything we receive helps us to do more for families facing bad housing and homelessness.

There are however a few things that sadly we're unable to take, and we'd hate for anyone to have a wasted journey to us, so please check the list below before donating your items.

What we accept

- Good quality second-hand clothes
- Books
- CDs and DVDs
- Good quality Furniture*
- Electrical items*

*not available in all Shelter Scotland shops. Currently, the only shop in Scotland accepting furniture is Motherwell

What we can't accept

- Items in poor condition
- Damaged furniture
- White goods

How to donate your goods

We welcome donations of good quality second-hand items to all our stores and you can drop your items off in person during opening hours. However we don’t want to leave anyone disappointed so if you have bulky items, or a lot to donate, please phone the shop to ensure they’ll be able to take your donation.

If space allows, our shops are occasionally able to receive donations of furniture. Again, please do call first to check the shop is able to receive your items.
