HEAT is a partnership project delivered by Citizens Advice Edinburgh, Edinburgh City Mission and the Edinburgh & Lothians Regional Equality Council. HEAT provides free, confidential, impartial and independent advice to individuals and households in Edinburgh about how to keep their homes warm for less money. Our advisers can help with a range of issues including:

- Switching supplier
- Accessing the best tariffs
- Obtaining grants
- Negotiating debt
- Meter and supply issues
- Support with complaints
- Energy efficiency advice

If your enquiry involves ongoing support or advocacy then you may be referred to our in-house Energy Specialist for additional assistance. This includes:

Advice on reducing the cost of home heating, hot water and household appliances

Research and advocacy to make gas and electricity costs as cheap as possible

Identifying ways to increase household income and reduce debts

You can access the service by calling 0131 510 5510. Support can be provided by phone or in person at our bureaux – in certain circumstances our Energy Specialist may be able to provide a home visit.
