Squirrels

Squirrel Scouts are aged 4 to 6, a brand new branch of the Scouting family. They usually meet weekly in groups called Squirrel Dreys to take part in lots of activities, including games, stories, songs and crafts. They will learn about the world around them and make new friends.

For Squirrels, the uniform consists of a red sweatshirt with badges sewn on and a group neckerchief (or ‘necker’) – ours is green with a yellow border and a special badge on the back.

What

Our Squirrels learn about the world around them by playing games, listening to stories, doing crafts and various activities. With lots of emphasis on having fun and making new friends, Squirrels enjoy trips in the local community and usually leave desperate to come back!

When

Our drey meets on a Friday afternoon during term time. Its usual meeting place is our Scout Hall at Port Edgar Marina.

Fees...

Each group charges a fee (called subscriptions or subs) to cover the costs of running regular meetings. This covers venue hire, insurances and materials for activities. There're sometimes extra charges for special activities, camps and events. We try to keep our subs as low as possible. so that anyone can come to Scouts. If you need help paying subs, please speak to your leader.
