SERVICE DETAILS
SIA offers free and confidential emotional and counselling support to women, all members of the trans community and non-binary people, from black and minority ethnic (BME) communities aged 16 and over, who have had any form of unwanted sexual experience.
These include experiences where there was something done to you without your consent, made you feel uncomfortable or confused and any kind pressure. They can be verbal, emotional or physical in nature and can have occurred recently or many years ago. They can also be one off or be ongoing. These experiences can be traumatic and can have an impact on both mind and body.
What we offer...
Initial appointment: when you first get in contact.
Long term support: up to 25 sessions with a dedicated worker.
Email support: we understand that some people have difficulty over the phone. If you prefer email support its available at SIA@ercc.scot
Crisis appointments: If you need urgent appointment because your traumatic experience is within the last 7 days.

How do the sessions work?
Getting in touch and referrals...
You can make a self-referral to SIA by emailing SIA@ercc.scot. Someone other than you including another worker can also make a referral for you with your permission.
When you contact us we will offer you an initial appointment with a worker. You can use this time in any way you choose and we can talk through about what support we can offer. After this initial session you can access long term support lasting up to 25 sessions. Each session lasts for 50 minutes.
