In partnership with Capital City Partnership, our Strides service offers one to one support for people in the Edinburgh area who are ready for work but who have particular barriers that may be preventing their progress.
What we do
Our Strides team meets with individuals to provide employability support such applying for jobs or vocational qualifications, CV building with an emphasis on strengths and transferable skills, interview preparation. For those people who have been involved with the criminal justice system, we give appropriate guidance on disclosure and conviction relevance, and assist with subject access requests.
Who is it for?
- Anyone aged 16 or over.
- People registered to a City of Edinburgh postcode (EH1-EH17, EH28-EH30).
- Those with a history of offending or who could find themselves involved in the criminal justice system.
- Individuals who are motivated to progress and have desire for training/qualifications/employment.
How it is accessed
By emailing strides.edinburgh@apexscotland.org.uk.
Referral forms are available to DWP, Justice Social Work and Offender Management Unit. Please note all referrals are subject to a suitability questionnaire and a referral does not guarantee registration with the service.
