Make new friends

Our tea parties are free monthly social groups open to people aged 75 and over who are lonely, isolated or in need of companionship. They are a chance for a change of scenery and regular afternoons of conversation and laughter with friends of all ages.

You will even be taken there and home again so don’t need to worry about organising travel.

Once a month, on a Sunday - A group of about 10-15 people will gather at a volunteer hosts's home.

Volunteer drivers - Collect our older guests from their home and take them to their tea party.

Guests share tea, cake, companionship and a change of scene for an afternoon.

Time to go - Our volunteer drivers take older guests safely back home and enjoy a bit of one to one company on the drive home before the next tea party.

Our groups are open to people aged 75+ who are lonely, isolated or in need of companionship. Guests should be able to get in and out of a car (with a helping hand) and be able to cope with a few steps into a host’s home. They should also be able to manage their own personal needs, such as using the bathroom without assistance.

How to get started...

This service is completely free and our guests aren’t expected to host any events.

- We find a group for you
- Your group coordinator will be in touch to explain everything you need to know.
- Make new friends
- Enjoy our monthly social gatherings: we’ll provide transport to and from your event and your hosts will take good care of you.
