Outstanding Hall Hire in Edinburgh – a great ceilidh venue

The church and hall were built in the 1840’s to serve the people of Edinburgh’s Old Town. In 1998 we renovated the buildings to provide space for community use.

The Hall and Garden are available to let for morning, afternoon or evening sessions every day except Sunday.

The Hall can accommodate between 120 to 200 people and is ideal for wedding receptions, conferences and workshops, board meetings, rehearsal space, ceilidhs, dance and yoga classes, forums and discussions.

The Garden is landscaped, south facing with a fine view of the Grassmarket rooftops and has a paved area suitable for a small marquee.

The Upper Room is ideal for a crèche or interview room. It has limited access and can accommodate up to 8 adults.

Hall

- Approx 17 metres x 8.5 metres
- Maximum 200 people standing or 120 people seated
- Wheelchair accessible, with accessible toilets
- 10 tables (6’ by 2’6 / 1.8 m by 0.76m) and 120 chairs available on request
- Has a white screen for projections
- A projector is available for an additional cost
- 4 electric sockets
- Free Wi-Fi
- Lift from church front door

- Tenants are responsible for all licences relevant to their use of the hall
- Includes use of kitchen & garden

The Kitchen

- Suitable for serving ready prepared food
- Large refrigerator & dishwasher
- Gas hob & oven
- Basic kitchen equipment
- Up to 100 wine glasses, plates, bowls, cups and saucers, knives, forks and spoons
- Urn, coffee making machine and a refrigerator is available

The Garden

Landscaped, seating, south facing, with a fine view of the Grassmarket rooftops, paved area suitable for small marquee.

The Upper Room

- Maximum 12 people standing or 6-10 people seated
- Approx 4.7 x 4.3 metres
- Small table and up to six comfortable chairs on request
- 4 electric sockets
- Limited accessibility – several stairs up from the lift and toilet

Commercial rates:

Daytime: £24
6:00pm - 10:00pm: £48
10:00pm - 11:00pm: £64

Friday and Saturday night bookings (after 6:00pm) will be subject to a £25 surcharge.

Community rates by agreement with the hall administrator (usually two-thirds of the commercial rate).

Upper Room hire:

- The Upper Room is available for hire for £10 per hour.
