What do Lead volunteers do?
Volunteers support learning in many, many ways. Mostly volunteers provide practical learning support, for example, scribing, talking through coursework, looking at study skills, providing encouragement, etc. Every learner has a different way of learning and different support needs.
A volunteer can be flexible to fit around a learners commitments. They can meet at college, in a library, in the learners home, communicate by email, etc.
Volunteers that support learners are all disclosure (police) checked and take part in training to support adult learners.
Please note: volunteers are not college tutors, and volunteers do not offer personal care.
Do you think a volunteer could support you to learn?
Contact Lead Scotland Learning Co-ordinators and talk to them about the support you need to learn.
Please note that there may be a delay while we find a suitable volunteer.
