Balerno Village Trust activities relies on the support of volunteers and we would love your help!
How can I get involved?
We have lots of different opportunities and ways to get involved including:
Farmers’ Market: Assisting with setting up, helping with the stalls or supporting our different themed events! Its great fun and you will get to meet lots of people in the community.
Scarecrow Trail: Supporting the organisation of Balerno’s annual scarecrow trail.
Friends of Main Street: looking after the beautiful flower beds and planters in the village centre. They usually garden alongside the Farmers’ Market but also have other one-off opportunities throughout the year.
Malleny Gardeners: BVT have recently taking on a community plot in Malleny Gardens and are growing all sorts of wonderful vegetables. A great way to develop your growing skills and get outdoors!
We also have one-off community volunteering days throughout the year including help at events and community clean-ups.
