information SERVICE DETAILS

Violence in young people's intimate relationships is a child-welfare problem. Girls and young women reporting higher rates for all forms of violence and a greater level of negative impacts - you can read more about this at https://bit.ly/2UWU7tu.

Young people too often see this violence as 'normal' and with the increased pressures facing young people, due to sexualised images, social media and more readily available pornography, there is a clear need for a prevention initiative to tackle this issue.

Under Pressure...

Under Pressure is a training programme developed by Zero Tolerance with support from partners in YouthLink Scotland and Celcis.

The programme aims to support professionals working with young people to open discussions with them about some of the challenges and pressures they may be facing including: risks of grooming and sexual exploitation, negotiating online safety, engaging in healthy consent-based relationships, and dealing with the pressures to conform to idealised models of ‘how to be’ men and women.

Specifically targeting the residential care, and informal youth sector: this training aims to skill up professionals working with young people often missed by education programmes taking place in Schools and more formal settings.
